About Anselmo M. Longoria

Mr. Anselmo Longoria was born near Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico the 21st of April 1895.

 

When he was 5 years old he moved with his family to Brownsville, TX where he went to school until he was 16 years old. At that time Mr. Anselmo had to quit school and start working to help his family. At that moment he started shaping his bright future as an architect.

 

He worked in construction and start learning quickly and became a specialist in that area. Mr. Longoria rose to the top of each company that he worked at. He got his degree as an architect from the Chicago Technical College.

After gaining a lot of experience he decided to go on his own and started designing and constructing different residences and buildings. He founded his own company and invented two game-changing technologies: The Polygonal System and a building board called The Mansional. With these two technologies, he improved

the techniques that were available in that years. They are still in use.

He was a family man being married to Mrs. Ofelia Montalvo. They had 5 kids together. Mr. Anselmo died in a car accident in 1936.

 

Without a doubt, he was an outstanding professional and human being. His legacy lives on in the buildings that are still standing.
